Even with the possible expulsion of Thomas Tuchel – and of the professional squad that included Zsolt Lőw – it could be suspected that the former club player Mauricio Pochettino would take over the management of Paris Saint-Germain, and this became official on the second day 2021. PSG announced on its official website this Saturday that it has reached an agreement with the Argentine specialist, who signed for the summer of 2022, but the contract also includes a one-year extension option.

During his playing career, Pochettino played soccer for PSG from 2001 to 2003, during which time he played in nearly 100 games for the team. The 48-year-old also previously worked for Espanyol, Southampton and Tottenham as a manager, leading the London side to the Champions League final in 2019.

According to a report on the Parisian club’s official website, Pochettino will assume his post at PSG on January 3.

Paris Saint-Germain is currently in third place in Ligue 1, albeit just one point behind Lyon and Lille. In the eighth final of the Champions League, the Parisian star will face FC Barcelona.
