According to Katalin Novák, as of January, the total amount of chocolate can be used to create multi-generational households.

As of January 1, young people who are about to have children or who are already raising children can receive a grant of up to 10 million HUF for the construction of a new multi-generational house with attic installation, announced the Minister without portfolio for families.

Katalin Novák said that the government supports the creation of multi-generational housing, therefore, as of January 1, the maximum amount of support for the creation of family housing (check) can be used for the installation of the attic of single-family houses.

The minister called it a common life situation for a young couple to build the attic of a family home in a family to raise their children there. They can use 600 thousand guilders in case of starting or raising a child, 2.6 million guilders in two children and 10 million florins in three children, he said. He mentioned as an example: if a family with two children undertakes a third, it can use the amount of 10 million HUF.

He added that for a child who has already been born, parents can request support at any age, if the child comes forward, the age limit is 40 years. Speaking about the additional conditions, he said: the grant can be taken for a self-contained house with a separate entrance that has a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room. The floor area must be at least 40 square meters for one child, 50 for two and at least 60 square meters for three or more children, he explained. It is also a condition that you cannot have the same owner of the ground floor and the attic – he indicated, adding that typically parents and grandparents live in the lower part of the apartment, and above the young people raising or having children.

Katalin Novák also drew attention to the fact that a maximum of HUF 15 million can be used in interest-subsidized chocolate loans for this support. The monthly installment of the total loan of HUF 15 million is HUF 72,000; the HUF 10 million loan that can be contracted for the upbringing and care of up to two children must be paid HUF 48,000 a month, he explained. The minister also announced that a bill on VAT reductions and exemptions was presented to Parliament on Tuesday.
