As Napi.hu wrote, the government’s ban on firecrackers left a loophole, which has now been confirmed by the police: Fireworks can be fired in private areas.
The decree published in the Hungarian Gazette this week emphasizes that the decree previously issued on December 28 and 31. The fireworks sales license issued for the interim period will not entitle you to sell this year. Anyone violating the rules regarding the distribution, use and possession of fireworks used on New Year’s Eve will also commit a crime punishable by up to 150,000 HUF.
Another new rule bans adults from December 28 to December 31. Medium risk pyrotechnic articles or use them from 6:00 p.m. on December 31 to 6:00 a.m. on January 1. However, as Napi.hu wrote, there is a loophole for New Year’s Eve fireworks as there are pyrotechnic products that can be sold in stores during the year, as well as stored and fired without a permit. Although the regulation prohibits the use of public spaces, it does not specifically cover private spaces.
VG.hu now writes that the interpretation has been confirmed by the police, that the devices can be obtained in the usual places and used in private areas, but in case of violation of the rules, a fine of 150,000 HUF can be imposed.
