French fashion designer Pierre Cardin, who died on December 29 at the age of 98, was buried in a coffin made according to his own designs.
The fashion legend said goodbye in a closed-door ceremony at the Montmartre cemetery in Paris on Saturday. Cardin was buried alongside André Oliver, a friend and colleague who died in 1993, the AFP news agency said, citing a statement from the family.

A mourning mass in commemoration of the fashion designer is expected to be held in Paris in January.
