The president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, László Parragh, reacted to the fact that HVG published yesterday a list of purchases of the public body for more than two million florins. MKIK has spent 60.5 million HUF on mental training, 60, 33 infographics, virtual reality glasses and 18.5 million tickets for Sao Paulo, among others.
Parragh’s relationship with the government is well indicated by the fact that in November he proposed to Viktor Orbán the abolition of the local business tax, which the government partially accepted, causing a significant loss of revenue for municipalities.
Part of MKIK’s income is state aid, and another is the amount transferred from members’ payments of 5,000 guilders to the center by local organizations, about which Parragh only needed an explanation due to an insensitive comment.
The chamber president, who views the articles as a malicious campaign, told ATV:
