Drew Tipton, appointed by the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, is a supposed issued an arrest warrant blocking the presidential order nationwide for 14 days. According to the federal judge the Biden administration did not provide a specific and reasonable justification for stopping the deportations.
Even during his campaign, the US president promised that if elected, introduces a 100-day moratorium on deportations. After Joe Biden took office, a senior official from the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a note ordering the suspension of certain deportations. The reason was that the ministry would be in a better position to face the challenges posed by the pandemic at the US-Mexico border.
The Texas attorney general argued that the moratorium violated federal law and the agreement between the Department of Homeland Security and the state of Texas. Ken Paxton said the agreement stipulates that DHS must consult with Texas and other states before taking any action on immigration matters.
