In several of our articles, we reported on interest in the new electric car purchase program, which was announced in June and could receive HUF 2.5 million in state support. We have already written that in mid-July, the winning applicants received the letter of support, which also meant they had 90 days to select that model and sign a deal with the dealer.

It has already been revealed from the Portfolio collection that one of the best priced models is the electric version of the VW up, and its brother Skoda, below the purchase price of HUF 11 million available in Hungary (in this case, state support of HUF 2.5 million). Electric version of Citigo. Róbert Kövi, project manager for electric mobility and alternative drives at Porsche Hungary, told us that the e-up can be reordered and configured in Hungary from 1 September. This year, the Hungarian quota for the electric car, which can be ordered this year and is expected to be taken next year, is 150 pieces and according to your expectations the stock will run out in 2-3 weeks.

The e-up! The initial price will be HUF 8.3 million, which can be reduced to HUF 5.8 million with State aid.

The new starting price is higher than last year, there are two reasons for this, according to Róbert Kövi. On the one hand, it seems the weakening of the forint against the euro (Exchange rate 350 instead of 320) as well as already HUF 1 million worth of used car compensation will not be available at dealerships discount. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that when that importer benefited, the state subsidy was 1.5 million HUF.

The e-up! however, its new price is still remarkably favorable compared to other small electric car competitors. Smartphones that are 1 million guilders cheaper have an official range of 115-133 km (WLTP), while e-up! You can do 265 km. Next in line is the very popular Renault Zoe, which can fetch 7.86 million guilders with state support (the popularity of the Zoe is no accident, however, as in terms of value for money, if we look at the relationship between range and price, it is outstanding in the field). I mean, e-up! The price of the next model in the line is 2 million HUF.

The Porsche Hungaria official also revealed to our interest that his brother, Skoda, Citigo production ceased. That is, those who bid for one of the cheapest electric models do not deserve to wait for another model. Róbert Kövi also recalled that last year a total of 200 e-up !, and 200 Citigo were sold in 2 weeks.

Those who would miss out on the current 150 pieces (for example, because they do not have state support) should also not be disappointed, as Róbert Kövi said that the e-up! production will not cease, but it would have to wait about half a year after the current quota for another order option expires. These models are manufactured at the group’s plant in Bratislava, which produces 80,000 cars of this type a year (Skoda Citigos electric and Seat Mii), but there is enough European demand to sell up to 500,000 units. they would know it from this model.

If at some point in the near future state support reappears in Hungary (there are such expectations in the sector), the VW Group will also react and replenish the national quota, explained the project manager.
