A Hungarian gang operating a brothel in Germany was liquidated by police, police said on its website.

The Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Police Headquarters is prosecuting seven people on commercial suspicion of trafficking in human beings for the purpose of exploitation, five of the suspects between the ages of 22 and 38 are residents of Nyíregyháza, a resident of Tiszavasvár and a resident of Székely.

From 2018 until their arrest on May 7, 2020, the suspects operated a brothel in Germany, where they outsourced prostitution to women of Hungarian citizenship. Most of the women’s earnings were taken away by members of the criminal organization, from which they financed their own livelihoods, and in some cases they also abused women.

The suspects carried out their activities in a coordinated manner, sharing responsibilities for recruiting, traveling and employing girls, posting advertisements and managing their income and expenses, and all received money from prostitutes accordingly.

After more than a year of research. On May 7, with the deployment of some 40 police officers, investigators detained all suspects in Nyíregyháza. Nearly five million cash forints, high-value cars, and gold jewelry were confiscated at each location.

Before operating the brothel in Germany, members of the criminal organization forced the girls they recruited to prostitute themselves in Switzerland, Austria and Belgium. The suspects were questioned, N. L., a Nyíregyháza resident, was criminally detained by the police and his arrest was proposed.
