After several strokes, István Lerch was able to return home this spring, after three years in a hospital and a rehabilitation institution, Blikk reported. The musician is now cared for by his wife, who also told the newspaper the details of Lerch’s condition.
“He can do more and more alone. Now we are careful again, as in the first wave of the epidemic, but István uses video chat well to be able to talk with his sister, his friends. (…) He especially waits for the treatments, although afterwards he tires, but due to the movement, his muscles, which have withered from many positions, have increased significantly. They loved each other very much with Elvira, her coach, who constantly prepared cakes for her with the many apples we grew. The treatment of the cake also contributed to the roundness of István, ”the wife told the newspaper, and said that the musician is also greatly missed by his friends, so after the first wave of the epidemic, he organized a surprise party for Lerch’s birthday in September.
“Charlie, who was visiting with two of our friends, brought a huge tray of cake and his latest CD as a gift. In the beautiful autumn sun, sitting on the terrace, they even sang a song together, ”recalled the wife of the celebration.
But Charlie also talked to Blikk about the birthday party. He said: “Track smiled all the time, he was happy, we sang our song The Fly Who You Are together. We listen to the songs on my new album, Beyond Everything, released in August. My heart ached because there is no longer a song like this written by Pista ”.
