Two people in the UK have already been diagnosed with a new variant of the coronavirus, the BBC reports. Both patients traveled from South Africa to Great Britain and both are in quarantine. This version is even more recent than the one already spreading in Great Britain, so France has closed its borders with England.
British Health Minister Matt Hancock told a press conference on Wednesday that the latest South African version appears to be spreading even faster than the British version.The British government is suspending air travel between South Africa and Great Britain, and anyone who has been to South Africa in the past two weeks, or has had a close relationship with someone who has been to the African country, should be quarantined.
