The latest amendment to the law, published in the latest Hungarian Gazette on Tuesday, details what new rules will apply from Wednesday regarding official epidemiological surveillance: home quarantine.
According to this, if someone comes home from abroad, it is no longer possible to carry out a specific administrative authority procedure in their case, everyone must automatically go to quarantine.
Quarantine officers must report the address of the quarantine home to the border police officer and travel directly there. They can only interrupt your trip for health, technical reasons or, in the case of public transport, schedules. As soon as they get home, they have to stick the sticker the policeman gave them on the door of their apartment.
From now on it will be mandatory to use an application developed to monitor compliance with quarantine, “quarantine software”, it is true only if we have a suitable device for it, and the amendment to the law does not contemplate how this is monitored.
What is also changing is the penalty for quarantine violations: from now on, the fine can range from 5,000 to 150,000 florins, which can therefore be imposed, even several times a day. A fine of up to HUF 600,000 can be collected in one day, which must be paid within 15 days to the account number published on the police website. However, a violation of the quarantine rules is a violation and not a crime. (via Mfor)
