It proposes a new type of cooperation between the Fidesz EP delegation and the parliamentary group of the European People’s Party (EPP) Viktor Orban in the letter that Manfred weber wrote to the leader of the faction – writes Népszava. In the newspaper, the head of government refers to loosening relations between Fidesz and the Popular Party in the future to avoid differences of opinion and interests and communication problems.
According to Orbán, this would also be a solution to the problem that while Fidesz was suspended in the party family with “common will”, its members could still remain in the Popular Party faction: the Hungarian head of government proposes a cooperation formula like was one of the MEPs of the British Conservative Party. In these ten years, the islanders joined the Popular Party faction as an external ally, forming a separate group within it.
Therefore, Fidesz would have to first leave the political community of Christian Democrats so that its MEPs could conclude a cooperation agreement with the group.
