In Korányi and Szent László, there are so many critically ill patients that “the ability to breathe is full,” Népszava writes, based on a letter in their possession. In Korányi, specialists were already running out, so the hospital asked caregivers to assess in their own institution how many nurses and nursing assistants would volunteer to work attached to their institution. Nepszava knows that 76 employees are waiting for different positions.
The document also writes that ambulances have been instructed by the head of the ministry that certified and suspected COVID19 patients in need of hospital care can only be taken to designated institutions for their care. Thus, people from the capital and counties of Pest are transported to the South-Pest Center Hospital and the National Institute of Koranyi and Pulmonology. If they are full, they can take patients to eight other institutions: St. John’s, Bajcsy, Péterfy, Pest County Flór Ferenc Hospital, Törökbálint Lung Hospital and Semmelweis University. County hospitals and field medical training universities were also assigned to screen the population affected by the infection and treat confirmed cases.
