Something must change!

This was definitely the password at MTK Budapest, as the Blue and Whites performed poorly in the previous two games: 0-3 at home against ZTE, then 0-4 at Paks. After a setback from a promising start, the question was whether Michael Boris’s band would bounce back.

The change was also noticeable in appearances: the Blue and Whites took off in pink jerseys, thus drawing attention to the fight against breast cancer and the importance of screening tests. Strengthening the other rookie Budafok, who plays in pure white, the 19-year-old Skribek Alen has already scored many goals in the youth and lower leagues, and has now shown in first class how the goal feels: he shot the ball into the corner with a nice play. .

Hungarians did not expect such a change …

Needless to say, MTK immediately tried to accelerate, but in the first half seemed unable to make up for the many fouls. Not so much that in Kornél Kulcsár’s shot, Milan Mijatovics defended bravely, while Dávid Kovács reached the rebound, but did not hit the empty goal, although it could have put the opponent in an even more difficult position. It seemed that Csaba Csizmadia was very organized in defense in Budafok, two filters were moving in front of the four defenders and the two wing midfielders often closed back so that MTK could not get behind the lines. MTK owned the ball but didn’t seem to know what to do with Budafok’s defense.

At the end of the half, Szabolcs Schön was in a good position, but missed, although it was a good chance to equalize. Michael Boris made the save, László Lencse took the field and Sebastián Herrera’s energetic shot marked what everyone knew: MTK moved every stone to equalize as soon as possible.

But Dániel Poser defended, and for a long time it was MTK’s most dangerous attempt. Furthermore, the conscious, sometimes explicitly imaginative Budafok was closer to increasing the lead than the Blue and Whites to equalize. The pace was not bad, the players of both teams ran a lot, but in vain the home team tried, apparently, the will of the guests prevailed.

In his hair, both bases made more exchanges, taking advantage of the fact that five of them could change again from that day on, Michael Boris got well in the composition of his team: Bojan Miovsky tied with a spectacular play. Needless to say, the MTK players turned for the goal, trying to pick up the pace and force their will on the opponent; however, this failed and, in the end, Budafok scored the winning goal.
