The prime minister announced Monday morning that he had signed a government decree that “is for the purpose of allowing seniors (over 65s) to shop in a protected area from 9 am to 11 am Monday through Friday”. During this period, only they can be in the store. The same will happen on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 10 pm
Viktor Orbán added that older people can shop at any time, but there is a protected time zone in which only they can stay in stores. He also said that it is clear from the statistics of the epidemic that they are still the most vulnerable age group. Before the announcement, members of the Council of Elders suggested the introduction of a time zone.
During the first wave of the epidemic, a 9-12 hour window was designated for people over 65 to shop. So they could only enter the stores during these hours.
