– Dream of drawing?
– Could you say it – replied with a smile from the 29-time national team forward, Krisztián Kenesei, who can play Ferencváros in the Hungarian Cup next week with Ráckeve VAFC from the second division of Pest county. – Support the club, get a frontline opponent or NB II if possible, and come on, the wish has come true. Anyway, I don’t remember if I had seen the giveaway even once, but now it turned out that after continuing to train at MTK, I came home and sat in front of the TV. My wife called ahead, you see, you get the Fradi, and she’s right. When I saw the pair, I said it couldn’t have happened better since we got the most popular team in the country. Okay, I’ve already played football against greens and whites many times, but for the others, the game will surely be a great experience; if we were to host an NB II opponent, that would be it.

– Which of the many memorable matches against Ferencváros is your favorite?
“The game appears when I was a bench player at sixteen and I did not end up on the field, and shortly after there was a game at the People’s Stadium that left me trying to score a goal with scissors. The MTK-Ferencváros, where I hit him twice and we won three to zero, is memorable, but I can also say the champion of Szombathely, that we reversed at a disadvantage with Progress with two goals. And if it is already the Hungarian Cup … When Fradi was excluded from NB I, we found him with Vasas in the cup. In the first game we won two to zero away, and in return I scored a goal, and although we lost the rematch to three to two, I scored both of our goals, and most importantly, we kept going.

– At some point we last spoke in April, when, as a player in Komárom, he said that the coronavirus epidemic was bringing forward the end of his career.
“To put it more specifically, I no longer play at the NB level, but if there is going to be a club where they agree to go to the championship and put my heart and soul on the field, I would still play football. I thought, maybe I would go to Austria, and then life brought me to Zoltán Böőr to call on the phone, and if we had already spoken he asked me if I didn’t feel like playing. It turned out that I had good connections in Ráckeve and asked if he could give my phone number to the managers. Then they called me from the club, I went to lunch, we talked, but I only said yes after my wife gave me a blessing: this is my life anyway, a Saturday game a week fits.

– It seems that he still has no problem scoring: he has triumphed four times in three championships. Do you want to be a scorer?
– I played a total of seven games for Ráckeve, I scored eleven goals, but I could have scored more than once, because I missed situations. Our goal is to get up, but after losing one of the champions, I told the guys we need more than that. As for the title of top scorer, I prefer to go for it in the championship of old people, because I achieved it eleven times in three games.

“Is Fradi having a difficult week?” On Wednesday, he will play Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, followed by the Hungarian Cup match against Ráckeve.
– Especially the away match promises to be difficult … At that time, I experienced that if we took a game against a lower-class team more easily, we suffered, it was that we fell. Every moment of the match against Fradi should be enjoyed, and although I had planned in advance if we were going to get a band NB I or NB II, I would not be playing if it was already like that, I want to play half time. I didn’t have a farewell match either, and then I realize it will be against Ferencváros!

THE CHAIN ATTRACTS NB I
At the main table of the Hungarian Cup series, four leading clubs received NB opponents, all from the third row: Diósgyőr VTK Balassagyarmat, Budapest Honvéd Tiszaújváros, Újpest FC Iváncsa (NB III club attracts the best teams, in 2019 the FTC played here, now the blue and white are coming) and Paksi FC goes to Hatvan. In terms of travel, MTK Budapest did the best: he doesn’t have to leave the capital against No. 43 Építő SK, but Zalaegerszeg can travel the country for the sake of the match against Mezőkeresztes VSE in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.
