Microsoft decided to lose the Edge

The Windows manufacturer released the browser after several attempts.

In August 2020, Microsoft released a schedule of when Internet Explorer will be permanently withdrawn from the market, writes hvg.hu.

However, the Redmond company’s plans included not only filming IE 11, but supporting non-Chromium-based Edge as well.

And the last date has just arrived.

Microsoft has announced that as of March 9, which means that March 10 is Hungarian time due to the delay, it will no longer send any more security updates to the original Edge browser. The company calls this version of the program Legacy Edge, to make it easier to distinguish it from Chromium-based ones, and plans to pull it off machines with the Windows 10 update coming in April.
