As reported, at the Cape Verdean team’s training ground in Portugal, six players and the federal captain had a positive result in the mandatory tests that week, so they couldn’t even go to Egypt with the others.

Upon arrival at the World Cup headquarters, another test awaited the members of the African team, and the international federation reported that these four more players had been diagnosed with a coronavirus infection.

The Hungarian national team will begin their performance against the Cape Verde World Cup on Friday night; it’s true, after that, it’s questionable whether the World Cup rookie will have enough players. According to IHF rules, a team can only enter the field if it can train at least 10 players, including a goalkeeper, a coach, and a doctor or physical therapist.

If Cape Verde were to withdraw from the World Cup (or could not appear for two matches), the Netherlands (Montenegro, Ukraine, Serbia) would certainly join. The IHF, on the other hand, does not want to postpone any matches, so if a team arrives too late to Egypt for whatever reason, the first match will be recorded as a 0-10 loss.
