Only four of the eight defendants appeared at the Székesfehérvár Court on Wednesday, where the case of the death of a public worker in Nagylók was discussed. The 43-year-old was tied to a chair in the cold of the night, a drunken joke, but cooled until dawn the next day and died on the pub terrace. According to the lawyer, the person responsible is the public worker.

Lawyers say it is not his protégés but the victim who is responsible for his tragedy last November, Blikk writes about what was said in Wednesday’s trial.

According to the newspaper, only four appeared at the trial and all pleaded not guilty. Previously, the prosecution demanded 15 years in prison for the defendants, however they can even expect life in prison. None said they were sorry for what happened.

“I’m not guilty,” repeated one of them, Cornelia, who supposedly gave her companions three rolls of duct tape to tie. In addition, he took photos of the humiliated man and later posted them on the social site. Finally after closing he went home leaving the tied man alone.

The newspaper recalled that last year the 43-year-old was tied to a joke on the terrace of the Nagylók pub after being thoroughly soaked and then giving him a match-filled cigarette that lit up in his mouth. The man fell asleep on the patio, tied a chair behind his back so he couldn’t move, and left him alone. The man who worked as a public worker was found the next morning, and even ambulances could not save his life.

“I was not there for the tie either, my DNA sample arrived at Zsolt’s chair because I gave him the duct tape used for the tie to the defendant in the second degree,” Kornélia said, according to Blikk. – “When the others challenged me to the terrace, Zsolt was already sitting in a chair tied behind his back and snoring loudly. I laughed because I found it funny. As a bartender, my job is to please the guests, to laugh at their jokes. When I left after closing, I told the others to let Zsolt go. He responded, then wakes up and lets go. “

The newspaper asked Miklós Surdy, the attorney for the defendant in the third degree, who said that the accusation was not professional, since all are charged with premeditated murder with extreme cruelty, whose sentence ranges from 15 years to life imprisonment. The lawyer testified that his protégé was not even there when the man was tied up.

Only the fourth-degree defendant said he was ashamed of himself for not releasing the man tied to the chair.
