The director responded to the question of the president of the board of directors of the University of Theater and Film Arts (SZFE) on Facebook. He asked back at the same time.

There is growing resistance from students and professors to the erosion of the autonomy of the University of Theater and Film Arts (SZFE) due to the government’s decision to continue the university as a foundation under Attila Vidnyánszky. More and more world-famous artists are joining the solidarity movement around SZFE, but the Vidnyánszky family is not expanding. You can follow the latest developments in the SZFE scandal in our article series.

Attila Vidnyánszky to DemocracyIn an interview with, in support of the need for change that he advocated, he spoke, among other things, that several of those who now defend the SZFE out loud said a few years ago that they were unhappy with the situation there. To prove this, quoted in Theater in the May 2001 issue of the magazine published report in which Árpád Schilling and Viktor Bodó He called the institution and education with harsh words.

“The speakers talked about the deterioration of the infrastructure, the overwork of the students, the poor teaching methods, the serious deficiencies in the crafts. They should be asked today if they are satisfied with the changes that have occurred in the last twenty years, ”Vidnyánszky said.

Árpád Schilling did not avoid the question, he responded in a longer post on Facebook. He wrote that

In recent years, a new generation has emerged and with it a new approach to college. While this new approach builds on ancient tradition, it also goes further to accommodate new challenges, international trends, and the emancipation of students. Without pretending to complete, the appearance of Ildikó Enyedi, Andrea Fullajtár, Anna Lengyel, Réka Pelsőczy, László Bagossy, Viktor Bodó, Máté Gáspár, Attila Gigor, Szabolcs Hajdu, Csaba Horváth, György Pálfi, Fekrörgy is clearly a new voice in education Törörörörör. . , offered ideas and approaches to the university public and, in addition to previous professors, reinforced the professional reputation of the institution.

Although problems persisted, according to Schilling, “questions may have arisen in the institution that previously could not be asked publicly.” According to the director, it was this transformation that has now erupted “as a result of the violent and emphatically unprofessional defeat.”

In his post, Schilling emphasizes that transformation of a university can only take place through professional consultations that involve stakeholders. This conciliation should have started before the appointment of the board of trustees.

There is no other way to imagine organic and sustainable change (at any level or area of society) than with the participation of stakeholders. The “goodwill” that comes from above and outside is illusory, even more arrogant and destructive. This procedure places those affected in an unworthy, intimidating situation and makes professional work impossible. In this case, the only free and legitimate reaction is resistance.

Finally, the director introduces his own question as follows:

Attila Vidnyánszky and his clients acted in an unprofessional, immoral and illegal manner, while managing the change of model from the first moment at the political (partisan) level, using government propaganda as a tool. Vidnyánszky, with good reason, now puts it this way: if he really is the only obstacle to the convergence of positions, he will step aside, because for him it is not a question of power, and he has never been the type to hold with both hands to all kinds of managerial positions. I replied, now you have to answer the question when you intend to get up from your chair. When and from which?
