The professors of the University of Theater and Film Arts reported in a statement the dismissal of one of their colleagues, Anna Faur, which could not be substantiated for professional reasons. The procedure is called petty and unacceptable, lacking in humanity.

“A change of maintainer will not cause a change in the way the university operates. All professors will continue teaching (unless they resign) and all classes will continue to function as before, ”SZFE students began, quoting Attila Vidnyánszky, president of the Board of Trustees of the University of Theater and Film Arts, who told origo. hu in August.

Then, an announcement published on the website of the Independent Free University reports that on November 30 Anna Faur, a professor at the University of Theater and Film Arts, received her immediate dismissal dated November 25, which was sent to Emil Novák mb. signed by the vice-chancellor.

On December 1, the SZFE Quality Management Council wrote a letter to Emil Novák requesting the revocation of the dismissal, citing professional and humane arguments. Faur Anna was invited to a meeting by Emil Novák on the same day, who canceled in an SMS the morning of the day of the meeting, and then announced by phone that he would call again.

A few days later, the HR department was looking for jobs to submit. Two instructors wrote another personal letter to Emil Novák, and Anna Faur herself asked in a letter the reasons for the dismissal. No response was received to any of the letters, they have not been registered since, received their outgoing works by mail – read in the statement.

The announcement lists Anna Faur’s professional qualities: the PhD partner, despite having a three-month trial contract until December 14, has a continuous legal relationship with the University for four years. Starting in 2017, he worked as a researcher in a three-year European investigation in which the top five Hungarian art universities participated in a consortium. It has developed recommendations and methodology for the national core curriculum to reform theater and media education. Now his research-related study entitled “Processing Pedagogical Problems with Film Tools” is published in the SZFE publication. Since September, after six months of passive GYED, he has continued to work at the Film and Media Institute as a lecturer, member (ex) member of the Quality Management Council. In addition to her four-hour job, she is raising her two-year-old twins, the ad says.

SZFE instructors believe that the decision is not justified by professional considerations in any way. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the mere reason why Anna did not present herself with a meeting initiated by the management with her more than eighty colleagues, but rather that the teachers stated in a letter that it is not possible to talk about the future until the education is banned from the university, and they are fighting for acceptance of the semester.

The decision is unworthy, petty, professionally unacceptable. The apparently legitimate procedure lacks humanity, says the communication.

The labor lawsuit was launched by the Society for Freedoms, and the University professors, together with doctoral candidate Anna Faur, will continue their fight for autonomy and free education.
