An American citizen was arrested in Thailand for criticizing the hotel of which he was a guest in a written review on a Tripadvisor website.

Wesley Barnes, who lives and works in a Southeast Asian country, was a guest at the See View Resort on the island of Koh Chang. After his stay, he wrote about the hotel in a review on the Tripadvisor website that “the staff were unfriendly” and he felt the guest was not being welcomed.

The hotel reported its former guest as a credit crisis, who was also detained for a short time. It is currently being processed. If convicted, he could face two years in prison or a fine of a good six thousand dollars.
