While Leclerc reached the final stage of the time trial and scored the fourth starting cube there, four-time world champion Vettel failed to beat himself in the top 10, and you can only wait for Sunday’s race from 15th position.

Vettel tried to get into Q3 on Saturday on the intermediate mix tires, but it didn’t work out. Although in Q1, based on the laps he ran on soft tires, his pace would have been enough for that, he thinks. They decided well to run their two laps of Q2 on medium tires..
“I actually felt pretty good on the first try. In the second stage, however, the tires did not get hot. I already blocked one of my wheels in Turn 3, and there was already a lot to go on the lap ”.

“I don’t know why it is so difficult to warm up the tires. It always looks different. Like I said, the car looked good in the first race. I thought I would repeat my stud race in Q1 on medium tires without any problems. That was the goal, but it wasn’t easy ”.
Vettel says he didn’t want to switch to soft tires in Q2 either because struggled with shooting in free practice.
“I struggled a bit on the soft tires all weekend. They quickly ran out and started shooting. The medium mix seemed much more durable. I thought it would be easy for me to get a good lap, but I couldn’t get the tires to work. “
