When a 59-year-old man broke into an apartment building reserved for the elderly in Fontana, California, he presumably didn’t expect to meet serious resistance. And I’m not sure a frail-looking woman, barely a foot and a half tall, will outgrow it. And that is exactly what happened, local press reported.

The man met the 67-year-old man. Lorenza Marrujóval, who studied martial arts for decades and proved that he could still deal with people bigger than him.

Donald Robert Prestwood He first broke into Marrujo’s apartment, but quickly escaped after the woman threatened him with a yellow baseball bat. The man then made the mistake of assaulting the woman’s 87-year-old neighbor, after whose screams, Marrujo, who said he had a black belt, immediately took action.

After alerting the police, he ran into the apartment, then immediately attacked the man: kicking his foot to the ground, then twisting his toe so hard that he screamed in pain.

So bang, I hit his sternum twice with my elbow

Marrujo told The Press-Enterprise. He then knelt around his neck and kept him on the ground until the police arrived. The man was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse and placed in pretrial detention.

Although a spokeswoman for the local police praised the woman, they said that in a similar situation they prefer to advise everyone to call the police because it is never possible to know if the attacker does not have a weapon.
