Croatian leader NK Osijek informed the Hungarian Football Association that László Kleinheisler, who was a legionnaire in the team, had been quarantined, so he could not join the qualification for the European Championship against Iceland and our national team that he would face the two Leagues of Nations.

Osijek’s team reported on their official website in the morning that one of their soccer players had produced a positive coronavirus test. Players of the club’s national team have been assessed in Split, as a negative result is a precondition for Croatian clubs to hand over their players to national teams. Here, one of them was found to be infected with the coronavirus; according to the report, he had no symptoms. The gang members were later quarantined.

NK Osijek did not name the infected footballer. What is interesting about the situation is that Kleinheisler did not enter Osijek’s match on Saturday. All this was done as a precaution, according to the club, since the footballer was not well before the match.

If Kleinheisler were infected, it would contradict the information about asymptomatic.

Osijek played with Hajduk, standing up with Ádám Gyurcsó, and the clash resulted in a 1-1 draw.

Memorable, Kleinheisler made his debut for the national team just five years ago in Oslo in qualifying for the European Championship against Norway. He immediately scored a winning goal, thereby becoming the hero of the duel. This time, the noble task awaits someone else.

The three-game series for the national team begins on November 12 (right on the anniversary of the Oslo match) with a substitution qualifier against Iceland. Later they will face Serbia and Turkey in the Nations League.
