The politician says strong homophobic attacks are coming.

“We can imagine the spiritual burden on her if she didn’t know what to do with her wishes, even during curfew.”

In a statement to Népszava today, Klára Ungár said this about József Szájer.

Klára Ungár was a member of the Parliament of Fidesz and later of SZDSZ, currently Free People for Hungary – Liberal Party president, and was already in the public eye in 2001 being drawn to his own gender.

According to Klára Ungár:

The case of József Szájer mainly sheds light on the serious problems and damage caused when someone has to go into hiding. (…) It is definitely worth looking for life situations, living in a city, being a member of a party where you don’t have to hide.

The politician believes that “Szájer is not tired of political work but of secrecy. (…) It is easy to imagine that not even the Prime Minister knew the real reason for Szájer’s resignation. That is why Viktor Orbán now feels personal anger towards Szájer ”.

Klára Ungár also told the newspaper that:

If it’s important for someone to be able to live their own life freely, it’s good to avoid Fidesz too far. Even after what happened, the number and intensity of homophobic demonstrations by the government cannot be expected to decrease. And if Fidesz wins the elections again in 2022, there may be even harsher attacks, then nothing will stop the Orbán family.
