Peter Scherer, the protagonist of the latter, described why: “Commercial televisions make a living from advertising and not only did people get sick from the coronavirus epidemic, but the economy also fell to its knees. As a result, the amount of commercial media ads is down significantly. ” In a statement issued by RTL Hungary Marketing and Communications Directorate, he added that three series were launched instead responding to the current problem (its title speaks for itself: Quarantined – talent search, stay home for you same – humorous reality show, Help! I am – situation comedy).
Incidentally, Péter Scherer even spoke about the fact that these self-produced series are very expensive, and for them to be worth it, they really need traditional television screenings, more precisely, ad units grouped into episodes, as well as related sponsors. “That is why they decided to also screen season 3 of the series The Apatigris and The Teacher when life returns to normal.” Said the actor. Both series are slated to air in the fall.
According to the RTL announcement, the already aired episodes of both series were highly successful – that is, an explosively high audience – so it was worth releasing even though they were quickly removed from the show. Norbert Köbli, screenwriter for Apatigris, said on Facebook that the opening part of the series was followed by 1 million viewers on April 12, the day of the show. Of course, the recently released Side Effect, Among Friends, Land of Dear Heirs and the Brave, will continue on television.
