The government information portal reported the rules for returnees from abroad on Tuesday. As recalled, the entry conditions have tightened again since Tuesday, because the second wave of the epidemic can be felt throughout Europe, and one of the main threats to the health and workplace of the Hungarian people is the introduction of the virus.

As a general rule, Hungarian citizens returning from abroad can count on an official 14-day home quarantine, which can only be suspended in the case of two negative PCR tests carried out in Hungary after entry, they wrote.

They were informed that due to their work, citizens of neighboring countries and Hungarian citizens could enter the country without quarantine or return to their homes if they lived within 30 kilometers of the border to help travelers. They can only stay in Hungary and the neighboring country within a 30 kilometer radius of the border.

According to the rules, Hungarian citizens coming from abroad and their family members who do not have Hungarian citizenship can undergo a medical examination upon entering Hungary, which they are obliged to tolerate, writes the MTI.

If an infection is suspected during the examination, the citizen must be quarantined or 14 days in official home quarantine designated by the competent epidemiological authority, the competent district / district office according to the place of residence / stay in Hungary. You will receive an official document about this at the border crossing, and you must put the red card indicating the official home quarantine on the front door of the apartment and stay at home.

They added that compliance with the official home quarantine is verified by the police in person or electronically with the consent of the person concerned.

Those affected can be exempted from quarantine in the event of a negative PCR test carried out twice on their own, with an interval of at least 48 hours within five days after entry. In this case, after entering, the interested party must submit an application at the customer’s door or by email to the competent district office according to the place of residence or stay in Hungary, to the district office in Budapest. The submission fee for the application is 3,000 guilders.

It was explained that the client’s gateway request can be uploaded to Documents in this interface after login. The fee will be transferred to the Receipt of Procedural Fees Account maintained by the Hungarian State Treasury, account number 10032000-01012107. The applicant will then be given permission to leave quarantine for the duration of the test.

If both PCR tests are negative, the district or the epidemiological authority of the territorially competent district will issue a decision to waive the official home quarantine. The quarantine can only be left after the decision has been received. It was emphasized that the PCR test is not mandatory and should only be performed if the person wishes to be exempt from quarantine.

They also mentioned that if someone notices the symptoms of a coronavirus infection during quarantine (fever, tiredness, dry cough, taste and smell disorder) stay home, do not go to the community and notify their GP by phone. If, on the basis of a telephone interview with a GP, a suspicion of infection arises, but based on symptoms, the patient does not require hospital treatment, he will be quarantined at home. If the symptoms are severe, such as shortness of breath, pneumonia, the GP will arrange for the patient to be hospitalized.
