The FC Barcelona-Ferencváros match will be played behind closed doors next Tuesday on the first day of the group stage of the Football Champions League. The Catalan Health Minister has rejected FC Barcelona’s security plan, which would have allowed thousands of fans to enter the 98,000-spectator stadium, writes the MTI.

The Catalan regional authority announced on Wednesday that it must keep all bars and restaurants closed from Friday to curb the coronavirus epidemic. Argimon, the Catalan secretary of state, said it would be “difficult to explain” the austerity measures if football fans could watch the games on the spot.

Sergi Solé, a journalist for the sports daily El Mundo Deportivo, told Kossuth Radio that Barcelona was asking the Catalan government to allow thousands of spectators to face the FTC, 10,000 against Dinamo Kiev and 25,000 against Juventus, but the idea was rejected. , and the decision is official.

Depending on the current position, Ferencváros can play his home games in front of the spectators. UEFA, citing the good experience of the Budapest Super Cup final, has allowed spectators to take part in the matches and consequently a third of the stadiums can be filled, subject to strict regulations. This can be overridden by local regulations, such as in Barcelona, but the Hungarian authorities are unlikely to choose a closed door.

Ferencváros will host his first national BL game against Dinamo Kiev at the Groupama Arena, in front of 7,300 domestic fans. The match between Fradi Juventus and Barcelona will already be played at the Puskás Arena, and both matches are expected to be watched by 20,000 spectators.
