At the moment, the celebration of the December National Olympic Qualification Championship in Kaposvár is not in danger, Sándor Wladár, president of the Hungarian Swimming Association, told public media on Wednesday.

Regarding the restrictive measures that came into force on Wednesday, the sports director remarked that these would not fundamentally affect the preparation of competitive athletes, however, in the last 36 hours -before the measures published in the Hungarian Gazette- 26 pools have indicated that they will close.

Here are the details of the new restrictions imposed by the coronavirus

Stores can be open until 7pm and up to 10 people can attend a birthday party. There is a curfew from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am

Sándor Wladár remarked that this could have been a hasty step for the affected facilities, and he is confident that a solution will be found as soon as possible. He added that it is important for the swimmers to prepare smoothly for the Tokyo Olympics and not lose the young runners who have been preparing for the national championships to be held in the coming weeks of a year and a half.

Sándor Wladár also spoke about the fact that the lines are “burning” in the federation, as athletes and competition judges, among others, have to issue route permits due to the curfew so that the League fights International Swimming Pool (ISL) continue uninterrupted. that there shouldn’t be any problem with the weekend youth and junior national championships either.
