On Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held a meeting with Tamás Freund, president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), at the Carmelite Monastery in Budapest, Bertalan Havasi, the prime minister’s press chief, informed MTI.
The meeting discussed the situation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian fellowship. The President of the Academy informed the Prime Minister about the programs and plans of the new leadership of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in relation to the organization of Hungarian scientific life.
The parties agreed that the Scientific Panel would develop a post-COVID strategy and, in the medium term, a national pandemic plan, including the management of the post-crisis period. This will address the challenges posed by potential future pandemics, such as the coronavirus epidemic.
