Nine hundred and fifty new Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), which increased the number of infected people in Hungary to 23,077, according to the data series on the government information website on Saturday morning.
Twelve patients died, bringing the number of deaths from coronavirus to 730, and 5099 have already recovered.
The number of actively infected people is 17,248. 38 percent of the actively infected, 55 percent of the dead and 39 percent of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 589 hospitalized coronavirus patients, 36 of whom are hooked up to a ventilator.
Cecília Müller, national medical director, spoke at a press conference on Friday that the number of deaths from coronavirus could increase in 4-5 weeks. The 12 dead are the peak of the day in the second wave. One of them is a 47-year-old man.
