According to a statement from police.hu, the 62-year-old man collided with the 45-year-old woman’s car on Wednesday on the M2 highway reclassified from the inside lane, which veered into the ditch and rolled over. The trucker stopped, staring absently for a few minutes as he tried to get out of the wrecked vehicle with the help of a man who had stopped in the meantime, then got behind the wheel and drove away unaided. The woman suffered a minor injury and her unborn child was not in trouble.
The accident was also seen by the Vác police captain, who stopped, helped the woman and then gave a description of the truck to his colleagues, who shortly afterwards stopped the driver in Rétság. On questioning the man, he stated that he did not feel the collision and did not feel responsible for the accident. He was prosecuted on suspicion of not providing assistance.
