The head of the epidemiology department at the National Center for Public Health (NNK) said 9,288 new infections had been recorded and 258 patients had died as of Thursday. The hospital cares for 12,062 coronavirus patients, 1,512 of whom are on ventilators.
Ágnes Galgóczi said that the average age of those living with coronavirus was 45.7 years.
- 23 percent of new cases were in the 40-49 age group.
- 17 percent of new cases in the age group 50 to 59 years.
- Fifteen percent of the new cases were in the 30-39 age group.
- 17 percent of new infections are from Budapest.
- 15 percent of new infections occur in Pest County.
- In Zala County, the rate of new infections is only 1.57 percent.
Ágnes Galgóczi stressed that the vaccination is ongoing, the number of vaccinated people is 2,065,948, of which 787,207 have already received the second vaccination.
The vaccination of the elderly is still the main one, the vaccination program does not stop at Easter, they are vaccinated with all vaccines. Hospitals use the Pfizer and Sputnik vaccines, while GPs use the Sinopharm, AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines. Today, another shipment of the Moderna vaccine has arrived, and this vaccine can also be used by GPs. Additional Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines will be shipped to government offices during these hours and then to GPs. Today, we also received 218,400 vaccines from AstraZeneca, which will be delivered to GPs on Sunday. More than four hundred people are vaccinated during the long weekend

Robert Kiss, deputy director of the guard center, said 86 of the 128 border crossings were still closed. He drew attention to the fact that new rules will come into force on the border between Croatia and Hungary from today.
You can still enter Croatia with only a negative test, but the authorities already accept antigen-based tests. The quarantine obligation can be activated by a vaccination certificate or a medical certificate of previous infection.

- Police officers took action in 721 cases for violating the rules for wearing masks.
- 677 cases were attended due to the lack of public use of masks.
