People living in the vicinity of Nagyatád became aware of the sound blast on Friday morning. Several thought that something had exploded in the area shortly before four in the afternoon. However, those who perceived the peculiar phenomenon also thought of discovering the effect of light, writes sonline.hu.
Rafael Schmall, an astrophotographer at Star Park, clearly described the sunrise phenomenon as a fireball in the sky over Somogy.
It could have been big enough because it was a thick cloud and it still shows up in camera footage. At first glance, it could have been minus 9-10 because it was as bright as the Moon.
He told the newspaper.

In astronomy, meteors whose luminosity reaches or exceeds that of Venus when they reach the atmosphere are called fireballs. These are relatively rare, according to the experts we interviewed, and occur mainly during meteor showers: Perseids, Geminids. When the detectors became aware of the sound effect, a bolt was presumably released into the atmosphere. This is what meteors are called that explode in the atmosphere and cause a sound explosion.
