Index – National – There is no garbage, but your eyes disappear in the city of Szabolcs

“Solving the problem is not easy,” admits the mayor of Tiszavasvár himself about the garbage situation that has developed in recent years. For years, waste disposal and stench in the Józsefháza district, which affects thousands of people, has been a problem in Tiszavasvár. Ferenc Horváth, a lawyer for the Haladjunk Aktivista Group, reported this to the Index a month ago. He is the one who has been trying for a long time to make illegal landfills disappear and instead everyone has to pay for garbage collection.

Where are those 15 cubic feet of garbage that is thrown away every two weeks?

– the lawyer Ferenc Horváth asks the poetic question. The solution is simple, he said.

most likely only in public places.

Where it is fumigated because for a few weeks it has been illegal to place illegal public garbage in municipal containers.

Protect your eyes

In one of Tiszavasvári’s television broadcasts, even Mayor Zoltán Szőke spoke about the fact that solving the waste situation in the settlement will be a long and multi-stage process.

Containers in public areas will be closed and only waste generated in municipal areas can be stored.

He said in the interview. It should be like this now. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that not only the population living there illegally dumps waste, but also

other settlements are also thrown here by individuals and businessmen.

Let’s Go Activist Group has been pushing for a long time for the city to assess who has a landfill and who has already signed a waste transportation contract with the service provider. According to Ferenc Horváth, only after this can a solution be found to eliminate the current unfortunate conditions.

The stench was huge during the summer. Rats and dogs have taken over the area and we want to finally find a solution together. We wanted the city to do a survey and only then start taking action.

There should be a common agreement

There is still no survey, but now it seems that the local government also wants to change the unfortunate situation, explains Ferenc Horváth about the possible reasons for the decision on fencing.

The mayor of the city, Zoltán Szőke, confirmed this in one of his interviews. In a conversation on September 20, he reported on a possible solution to the illegal dumping.

The mayor has stressed that garbage disposal has been a problem in both parts of the city for years, but he wants to resolve the situation.

The only first step in doing this was to go around the containers.

Only then can a discussion start with the waste hauler to find a common solution to have the dumpsters and for everyone in the settlement to have a waste transport contract.

– summarized the tasks ahead of him Zoltán Szőke.

It is not clear who lives where

The civil activist Ferenc Horváth also wants to achieve this. However, it is difficult for residents who live here to register at the address where they have lived since birth. As a recurring problem, the real estate registry is in a chaotic state for the families that live there.

It is a common concern that after the death of the grandfather, the grandson sells the property a few years later and the new buyer can no longer register for the address of the house for which he also paid the purchase price. So you can’t sign a contract either

One of the reasons is explained by an employee of the Let’s Go Activist Group.

Yet his eyes keep disappearing somewhere. And because they can put minimal quantities in containers, residents are trying to dispose of them in other “creative” ways.

You can take your eyes off the EU money

According to Ferenc Horváth, the mayor is now trying to pass the time so that he does not have to face the real solution to the problem.

that eye, on the other hand, sooner or later comes to light.

According to the activist’s theory, the municipality will presumably want to liquidate the illegal dumps next year with tender money. Of course, due to the restrictive measures, the delay is now understandable, but it can be rightly suggested that the mayor could grant a grace period to conclude the waste shipping contracts.
