The Office of the Central Investigation Prosecutor questioned Fidesz MP of the Office of the Central Investigation Prosecutor on suspicion of accepting bribes and other crimes. A house search was also conducted during the week at the politician’s house and evidence was seized. István Boldog did not testify, denied having committed the crime and complained about the suspicion, the prosecution said.
According to the prosecution’s suspicion, István Boldog illegally influenced the results of the evaluation of the EU applications. In the case of some applications from the County’s Regional Development and Settlement Operational Program (TOP), several people were known to have committed criminal offenses in connection with the applications, the prosecutor’s office writes in its statement.
István Boldog participated in these acts in such a way that, abusing his position and official influence, he illegally influenced the results of the evaluation of the applications, for which he received an unwarranted advantage from the businessmen.
It started at NAV’s Southern Great Plain Criminal Directorate, and then in the case transferred to the Central Investigative Prosecutor’s Office, the prosecutor’s office has so far questioned nine people as suspects.
The case was exploited by Ákos Hadházy last October. As it turned out, the Mayor of Kengyel told authorities in an indictment that the EU tenders were previously oiled in his Happy constituency.

There have been several arrests in the case, such as the right hand man of Fidesz István Boldog’s deputy, Petra Fehér, about whom you can read more in this article.
