The government has not yet decided to ease the restrictions in Budapest on Wednesday, as it intends to consult virologists and medical experts and await the opinion of the mayors of Budapest, MTI reported.

MTI knows that the Minister who heads the Prime Minister’s Office wrote to the mayors and the mayor of the Budapest district. In a letter, Gergely Gulyás wrote that, according to national data, the counties of Budapest and Pest have the majority of patients infected with the coronavirus: as of Wednesday, they know about 340 dead and 1,089 active infected.

The minister asked mayors to provide information on Thursday afternoon on whether or not they considered it appropriate to lift the exit restrictions and gradually resume life in the capital in Budapest.

According to Gulyás, Budapest continues to excel in the field of infection, despite the fact that the number of patients is decreasing according to the data of the last days.

By the way, Gergely Karácsony already explained on Wednesday morning how she imagines the reopening of Budapest.
