From March 1 to March 16, the government extended the government decree on protective measures to be applied in the event of an emergency ordered by a coronavirus epidemic. On February 25, Gergely Gulyás, minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that the current restrictions would be extended until March 15.

The cabinet decree on this was published in the Hungarian Gazette on Saturday, according to which the measures must be applied until March 16.

This regulation regulates, among other things, the prohibition of curfews, the prohibition of meetings, the closing of restaurants and hotels, the prohibition of events and the closing of shops at 7:00 p.m.

At the same time, the government has decided to extend the wage subsidy for the entire period without a separate application for employers who submitted their claim before the current regulation came into effect. In addition, the measures to support families affected by digital education and the regulation for the temporary reintroduction of border control were also extended until March 16.
