Index – National – The asphalt was renewed only in front of the DK office in Újpest

Only 250 meters long is the IV. Templom utca district, but only a very short part of this public space, barely 12 meters, was paved by the Municipal Custody of the Municipality of Újpest led by the momentary Tibor Déri. The construction is flawless anyway, the new black asphalt clearly shows where development took place.

This asphalt has the particularity that it follows the line of the office of the representatives of the district’s compatriot, László Varju, who politicized with the colors of the SE, from corner to corner. There are no signs of renewal before and after.

Two years ago, the municipality of Csepel made a similar gesture when Szilárd Németh, the parliamentary secretary of state for the Ministry of Defense, was paving the front, although before there was no solid pavement. However, the pioneer of politically-based paving was Marcell Zsiga, who was already able to rejoice in the generosity of the municipality of Miskolc in 2012, as as a result of the measure, the space in front of the property in Miskolctapolca could soon be renovated.

In Káposztásmegyer and in the interior of Újpest, several sections of the sidewalk in rather poor condition await renovation. A respondent in Újpest said it would have been more justified to renovate Illek Vince Street, which is only 20 meters from the DK office.

That is why we sent a letter to the municipality asking who had decided to renovate this section of the sidewalk and on what grounds the decision was made. We were also curious to know how much the asphalt cost and from what source was financed.

So far we have not received any answers to our questions.
