Free testing of school and kindergarten and daycare staff across the country began on Monday. However, not all employees participated in the tests: in Kistelek’s kindergarten, for example, only 57 percent of employees evaluated themselves.

The town mayor told RTL News that he was surprised, according to himself, that just over half of the kindergarten teachers and nurses wanted to be tested. Finally, 38 of the 54 workers went for a screening test, and two tested positive. At a school in Debrecen, the problem was bigger than this: 9 teachers had a positive coronavirus test, for which an extraordinary break was ordered at the school. The national medical director, Cecília Müller, said about the channel’s question: they do not believe that tests should be mandatory, they only recommend and recommend them.

According to the Democratic Organization of Educators (PDSZ), many people do not take advantage of free tests because educators only receive 100 percent of sick pay if they can be shown to be infected at their workplace; in the absence of this, only 60 percent.
