According to the rules of clinical research, the Russian vaccine, which arrived in Hungary on Monday, will be administered to 3,000 volunteers for the first time, and if they do not experience serious side effects during the test, the Hungarian authorities may allow the widespread use of Sputnik V, ATV News reported.

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced on Monday that some 6,000 ampoules of the vaccine against the coronavirus Sputnik V had arrived in Hungary. The shipment was taken to the National Center for Public Health, where Hungarian specialists can decide on the use of the vaccine.

The minister added that in Russia, which involves 40,000 people, clinical tests have already been passed, resulting in an efficiency of 91.4 percent.

The Ministry of Human Resources (Emmi) responded to questions from the ATV News Service that six thousand vials, that is, a sufficient quantity of vaccines suitable to vaccinate 3,000 people, have arrived in Hungary since Monday afternoon.

This will continue the scientific cooperation offering the Hungarian authorities the opportunity to investigate another vaccine. The National Institute for Pharmacy and Food Safety (OGYÉI) can authorize the use of any vaccine in Hungary and authorization from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) is not required.
