Police took action in 256 cases related to night curfews on Friday and Saturday, police warned in 28 cases, imposed on-site fines 168 times and filed a report in 60 cases, said a spokesman for the National Police Headquarters ( ORFK) to the public media in Gyömrő on Sunday.

According to the information, the police found irregularities in ten stores on Friday and Saturday that forced the stores to close. These stores must be closed for a total of 102 days, he added.

Kristóf Gál also said that until midnight on Saturday, serious irregularities were found in six restaurants in Budapest, so these places have to be closed for 14-14 days. He emphasized that it is primarily the responsibility of the operators and owners of stores and restaurants to comply with the rules on the use of masks with guests and employees. The inspections continue to aim to make the police an “ally” for those who responsibly abide by the rules and to filter out those who endanger the health of others, an ORFK spokesperson emphasized.
