The Democratic Union of Teachers (PDSZ) is calling on the government to order a winter break without delay from now until the originally planned end, that is, on January 4 of next year. Days lost in this way, roughly two weeks, could be made up from June 16-30, according to the union’s announcement.
It is also written that the reorganization of the days off can immediately reduce the number of contacts in the current winter period, increasingly risky, and thus effectively reduce the spread of the virus.
The two weeks will not be wasted for the national economy either, as they can be safely replaced in June as a result of the expected natural decline and the good chances that vaccination programs will start by then, and there is a good chance that they will be teach safely in the community rather than reported to MTI on the basis of communication.
According to the PDSZ, the rescheduling of the recess does not cause any particular disruption, especially since in June the institutions often conduct field trips, end-of-year repeats and organize community programs. The union’s national office is of the opinion that the current situation cannot be handled with the “hooray optimism” presented by the government, and the proposed reorganization of the rupture is the only good solution to the current situation.
