Index – National – Parragh Ideas: From the Cricket Period to the Local Tax Freeze

[ad_1]

László Parragh was elected president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) in 2000 as a candidate for the National Association of Hungarian Manufacturers. The MKIK president, especially in the last decade, has rushed the Orbán government with a series of groundbreaking proposals.

March 26, 2011 – Sectoral special taxes

After the change of government in 2010, he stated at the National Meeting of Young Economists:

Sector-specific taxes can be a means of compensating for the current distorted income structure in the economy.

According to the president of the Chamber, the reduction of interest charges, communication or energy costs could result in the restriction of monopolies by official means, and this would help improve competitiveness.

November 9, 2011 – House Contribution

At the initiative of the MKIK president, the Parliamentary Audit Committee of Parliament and the Budget presented its proposal to amend the Law on Chambers of Commerce on November 9, 2011. The explanatory memorandum of the proposal emphasized:

The objective of the amendment is to create a mandatory registration in the chamber of economic organizations (sole proprietorships and associations) and contribute to the performance of the chamber’s public functions by imposing a minimum payment obligation (5,000 HUF / year) to continue developing the camera system based on voluntary membership.

In his November 14, 2011 interview with Magyar Hírlap, Parragh noted:

We need to fix things in the economy, we need to know who are the contours and who are the generators of chain debt. This, in turn, requires company registration, so you can get an idea of the situation. This comes at a price, which is dwarfed by damage caused by accountants and non-payers.

According to the modification of the law, between January 1 and March 1, 2012, all economic organizations and sole proprietors, except companies engaged in agricultural activities as their main activity, primary agricultural producers and law firms, they had to be registered in the registry of chambers of commerce and industry. Had to comply with the obligation to pay the contribution of the camera up. 90% of the chamber’s contribution belongs to the regional chamber and 10% to MKIK, which last year generated revenue of HUF 470 million for the national chamber.

Following the entry into force of the amendment, the Chairman of MKIK announced that he would also treat unregistered companies in a business manner, primarily encouraging them to register and initiating liquidation only as a last resort. This patience was also necessary, as the hvg.hu article from May 22, 2014 reported that

Parragh is also interested in two companies that have not paid the mandatory chamber contribution.

March 18, 2013 – “Cricket Show”

In an interview with People’s Freedom, which has since been abolished, Parragh argued that it would be good for higher education too if the chamber and the economy appeared there. The MKIK president explained:

Nobody is going to convince me that andragogy is one of the most important careers of today. I think a lot of people choose it because it is the simplest. If I get there, anything can come out of me. This is the biggest cricket.

To the journalist’s intervention that those who graduated there would not be unemployed, he replied: “Not until they study.”

June 8, 2017 – Elementary schools closed

Debrecen’s declaration also caused great controversy. The MKIK president regretted that the “suction effect” of grammar schools was extremely strong. As he said, “in the last five years, 100,000 children have dropped out of secondary education, of which 84,000 have dropped out of vocational training.” Called it a big mistake

“Mayors do not dare to close primary schools.”

May 14, 2018: “proposals that break taboos”

In his presentation at the Nagykanizsa Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegates meeting after the 2018 elections, he spoke, among other things, of the need to rethink current labor market techniques to ensure an adequate number of skilled workers.

“We have suggestions to break taboos, and they will exceed the guarantees

He commented without going into details.

June 17, 2020: a limit of three million cats

In an interview with Magyar Nemzet, he said that the chamber’s proposals include, for example, that the katas company and its business partner must provide data if their transactions between them exceed 3 million guilders a year. “There is still such a rule, the value limit is now one million florins,” László Parragh commented, but added:

It would not only increase the amount, but it would also complement the pass. That is, a certain amount (up to forty percent) of taxes must be deducted for the part in excess of three million guilders.

“The additional public charge would not have to be paid to the state treasury, but to the state treasury,” remarked the president of the chamber.

November 8, 2020: Business Tax Suspension

The business income tax could be reduced to 5 percent for one year and the business tax would have to be suspended for up to one year. Therefore, we should strive to reduce overall business spending. I suggested this to the prime minister.

Declared the president of MKIK. Viktor Orbán reported on Facebook in the morning that he had agreed with László Parragh. In particular, on how to help small and medium-sized enterprises, he added: is awaiting proposals from the president of the Chamber of Industry.

November 17, 2020 – Municipal Tax Freeze

The Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry proposes to waive the business tax and freeze other types of taxes within the purview of the local government.

– declared the president of MKIK to the Hungarian Nation. László Parragh emphasized that the relief would apply to the entire small and medium-sized business sector by 2020 and 2021.
