On October 6, consumer protection experts from the Ministry of Innovation and Technology launched a national consumer protection inspection, and although it has yet to be completed in the capital, county inspections show that one in four companies inspected has a problem or violation, said ITM Deputy Minister Tamás Schanda.

It reported that a total of 81 businesses were inspected and problems were found at 20 suppliers. The consumer protection inspectors examined whether interested parties were properly informed about the official price and whether the final price complied with current regulations.

So far, inspectors have found a total of 29 violations, the secretary of state said. There were 14 cases of problems on the 100 websites inspected, and violations were found in 12 cases during the 57 on-site inspections. In addition, out of 83 telephone inspections, 3 problem cases were found.

Tamás Schanda reported that so far a total of 17 consumer protection procedures have been initiated against 14 companies. The reason for the difference was that there were companies that cooperated with the authority and modified the alleged practice already at the time of the audit.

However, three companies offering PCR tests had to be fined for misapplication of the official price and for unclear price information and indications, said Tamás Schanda.

Róbert Kiss, head of the guard center, reported that the regulation on the use of masks, valid from Monday, November 2, had also been published in the Hungarian Gazette. He specifically called attention to ensuring that everyone adheres to the new regulations to protect each other. He also said that

Although the police have also received new powers to sanction infringements of the rules on wearing masks, the police do not aim to impose fines, the patrols will always seek proportionality.

Anyone who violates the mask wear rules will be in violation and can face higher fines.

In connection with the Feast of All Saints, he drew attention to the fact that the police will pay special attention to the inspection of the area around the cemeteries and to the use of masks on the public transport that drives there.

He also spoke of the government having extended its measure to reintroduce temporary border control across the entire section of the internal Schengen border until December 1.

Although since October 27 new quarantine rules have been implemented for foreign arrivals – automatic 10-day quarantine – this does not affect the previously established exceptions for entry.

That is, there is no mandatory quarantine for business travelers who have been confirmed, nor for a coronavirus infection that has been confirmed by a PCR test of no more than six months.

He stated that international freight traffic is currently possible at 5 border crossings and 29 crossings reserved for passenger traffic only on highways.

86 measures were necessary in the last 24 hours for violations of epidemiological regulations, and the police took 16 for the use of masks, of which 1 was reported as rape. In the commercial units, the police had to intervene in 70 cases, fines were imposed on the scene on 13 people and 11 violations were reported. Police violated 43 cases in the corridor due to traffic rule violations, of which 42 were on-site fines.

According to Róbert Kiss, 3,718 official quarantines have been ordered in the last 24 hours, only 508 of them due to border crossings, so 26,396 are already in epidemic closure. Police officers checked 12,675 quarantines and 1,141 were logged in the quarantine inspection mobile app.
