The new coronavirus infection (Covid-19) was detected in 710 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 15,170. Nine chronic patients died, eight of them older than 70 years, so the number of deaths increased to 663 and 4,227 have already recovered. The number of active infections is 10,280. 43 percent of those actively infected, 58 percent of the dead and 42 percent of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 328 coronavirus patients in the hospital, 21 of them on ventilators; read koronavirus.gov.hu. There are currently 28,920 people in official home quarantine and a total of 580,072 samples have been taken.
As the data of new infections warn, the second wave of the epidemic is taking place in Hungary, the virus is already spreading in the community. The government’s goal is to keep the country running and not allow the virus to paralyze everyday life, so the general rules that are already in place and easy to follow are now even more important.
They ask that
- All people must strictly observe the rules of mandatory use of masks in shops and on public transport
- avoid places where there are many people inside,
- if possible, keep social distance,
- wash your hands frequently and thoroughly,
- who has been ordered to submit to an official national quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason,
- Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone.
The protection of elderly and chronic patients is of the utmost importance. Older people are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home administrators must do everything possible to prevent infection.
