The number of infected people is growing exponentially across Europe, in neighboring countries and in Hungary, with more and more people requesting hospital care. The epidemic cannot be stopped, the goal is to stop it. After parliament voted to extend the state of emergency, the government announced new protection measures. The goal is to reduce the number of coronavirus diseases and the burden on hospitals, read at koronavirus.gov.hu.

- Stores, with the exception of pharmacies and gas stations, can stay open until 7 pm and then open at 5 am at the earliest when the curfew expires. - The norms introduced so far regarding the use of masks and distancing remain in force, with the obligation to wear a mask in some public areas of settlements with more than ten thousand inhabitants. It is the mayor’s responsibility to designate the areas. The use of a mask is not yet mandatory during sports activities, as well as in parks or green areas.
- All meetings are prohibited.
- Restaurants cannot accept guests, they can only stay there to bring food. The government reduces the administrative burden of home delivery and taxi drivers can participate in the task. Factory canteens may be open.
- The hotel cannot accept tourists, only guests arriving for business, economic or educational reasons.
- It is prohibited to carry out any type of event, including cultural events and Christmas fairs. Religious community ceremonies may be held at the discretion of the religious community. The government asks religious communities to define rules of conduct during their ceremonies in accordance with the general rules.
- Sports matches must be held behind closed doors.
- Individual outdoor sports are allowed. According to applicable law, competitive athletes cannot be restricted in this activity.
- The use of leisure facilities, including in particular fitness rooms, indoor swimming pools, museums, libraries, cinemas and zoos, skating rinks, is prohibited.
- Secondary schools have been operating on a digital work schedule since the ninth grade. Colleges and universities operate at the discretion of the school principal.
- Universities and colleges are moving towards a digital agenda. The colleges of higher education institutions will be closed, the Rector may establish exceptions. Residence may be allowed, in particular, for foreign and foreign students, as well as for official home quarantine obligations for those who complete the dormitory.
- Private and family events (ex: birthdays) can be held for up to 10 people.
- Funerals can be held for up to 50 people. Weddings can be held without a wedding, however only certain people can attend the event.
In Hungary, everyone has a hospital bed, healthcare, a ventilator, and with the protection measures just introduced, the goal is to keep it that way. The protective measures are intended to curb the epidemic and thus also to protect the performance of medical care. To continue providing hospital care to coronavirus patients with a growing number of patients, more capacity-building measures have been ordered: deferred surgeries are suspended, the number of hospitals involved in care is increased, and the number of beds is increased. reserved for coronavirus patients.

Free flu vaccines are already being given as part of health protection. The provision of the influenza vaccine to GPs is ongoing.
The protection of elderly and chronic patients is of the utmost importance. Older people are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and the general precautions they take. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home providers must do everything possible to avoid infection. If a focal point takes place in a social institution or anywhere else in the community, the epidemiological deployment unit will take the necessary actions.
