Democratic Coalition MEP Klára Dobrev told an online press conference that her employment and social policy guidelines could lead to binding legislation for all member states.

There will also be a European minimum wage, in a legislative recommendation just approved, the MEP has asked the European Commission to draw up a plan to determine exactly how many wages are needed in each Member State to live a decent life.

Exploitation of workers must be avoided in all EU Member States and worker poverty must be eradicated.

Klara Dobrev said.

The report also calls for the establishment of a European Health Union, which would eliminate health inequalities between member states. By setting minimum quality standards, they could prevent a Frenchman, for example, from receiving other benefits than a Hungarian citizen.

According to the report, to overcome disparities, more money needs to be spent on education, social spending and an adequate pension for older people living below the poverty line.

Nowhere in Europe can those in need receive help. Social sensitivity and the protection of the vulnerable cannot be negotiated. Only then can we recover from the crisis without major losses.

Said the MEP.
