On October 14, the Northern Great Plain Criminal Directorate of the National Tax and Customs Administration ordered an investigation into the family property of Sándor Kovács County Member of Parliament Fidesz Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg 24.hu.

According to the newspaper, the case is currently under investigation, which means that the suspects have not yet been questioned.

In September, the portal aired that tourism investments were built on Sándor Kovács’ family property with a non-refundable EU grant of HUF 60 million: a guest house, a philagoria, a tourist demonstration house and a “lodging Boat”.

The funds were not officially received by Sándor Kovács, but the money was used to build on his land. In just a few years, the ruling Nyírség politician earned 1 billion guilders from public procurement with his company exclusively in settlements that belong to the Fidesz politician’s constituency.
